CABLE LABELS & IDENTIFICATION
Cable labels are extensively used in commercial and industrial applications throughout Australia and are increasingly specified across all types of electrical installations.
Our standard cable labels are manufactured from 0.5mm 316 grade stainless steel. Alternative materials include thicker 304 or 316 stainless steel, nylon/ABS, and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LS0H) flexible rubber. The engraving or marking method—laser etched, chemically etched, or thermal printed—is selected to suit the material and application requirements.
Direct laser engraved or chemically etched stainless steel cable labels provide exceptional durability, offering long-term resistance to UV exposure, chemicals, and abrasion. Thermal printed cable labels are produced on vinyl/ABS or LS0H materials that are fully UV rated and chemically resistant. These are typically printed with black text on yellow, white, blue, or red backgrounds.
We can also supply chemically engraved and enamel paint-filled stainless steel cable labels, as well as coloured UV-printed stainless steel labels on request.
All cable labels are supplied with slotted ends suitable for fixing with nylon or stainless steel cable ties, which can also be provided if required.

Engraveco maintains sufficient stock to fulfil orders ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 cable labels, ensuring reliable turnaround for large-volume requirements.
All cable labels are supplied with slotted ends to allow secure installation using cable ties.
The following cable labels represent our most commonly stocked options:
- 0.9mm thick 316 grade Stainless Steel Cable labels with a plain finish. We maintain stock in two sizes, 89mm x 9.5mm and 89mm x 19mm.
- Nylon/ABS Cable labels in Yellow, White, Blue and Red. We maintain stock in two sizes, 86mm x 13.5mm and 86mm x 27mm.
- LS0H (Low smoke/Zero Halogen) flexible cable labels in Yellow or White. We maintain stock in four sizes, 76mm x 13mm, 76mm x 27mm, 102mm x 13mm and 102mm x 27mm.
Direct Laser Etched Stainless Steel Cable Labels
Direct laser etched nameplates are engraved using our fibre laser system, eliminating the need for marking pastes or additives. The resulting mark is permanent and highly resistant to harsh operating environments, including exposure to chemicals, UV radiation, and abrasive particles.
This is our standard method for engraving stainless steel cable labels and is widely accepted across the oil and gas, coal, and iron ore industries. The engraved mark provides a dark, high-contrast finish for clear and durable identification.
Marker Paste Engraved Stainless Steel Cable Labels
Marker paste engraved cable labels are produced using our CO₂ laser, which fuses a mineral marker paste permanently to the stainless steel surface. This method creates a durable mark that is highly resistant to harsh environments, including chemicals, UV exposure, and abrasive particles.
This engraving option is widely accepted in the oil and gas, coal, and iron ore industries. The resulting mark is darker and black in appearance, providing excellent contrast for clear and long-lasting identification.
Thermal Printed Nylon/ABS Cable Labels
Thermal printed nylon/ABS cable labels are produced using specialised DOT Group thermal printers designed specifically for cable identification. Labels are available in white, yellow, red, or blue, all printed with durable black text. The print is highly resistant to UV exposure and chemicals, ensuring long-lasting identification.
Thermal Printed Flexible Cable Labels
Thermal printed LS0H (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) cable labels are produced using specialised DOT Group thermal printers designed specifically for cable identification. The black print is highly durable, offering excellent resistance to UV exposure and chemicals.
