STAINLESS STEEL LABELS - NAME PLATES - TAGS and SIGNS

Stainless Steel Nameplates are extensively used throughout Australia for commercial and industrial identification and asset labelling. Available in Grade 304 or 316 stainless steel, these plates can be direct laser etched with our Fibre laser, or chemically etched using a specialist marking compound and our CO2 laser, to produce a permanent, high-contrast mark.

Engineered for demanding environments, stainless steel nameplates offer exceptional resistance to UV exposure, chemicals, corrosion and abrasion, making them ideal for long-term durability in harsh conditions.

On request, we also manufacture chemically engraved and enamel paint-filled nameplates, along with full-colour UV printed stainless steel nameplates and signage to suit specific branding or compliance requirements.

By using our stocked items

Engraveco maintains consistent stock of 1.2mm thick 316 grade stainless steel blanks with an N4 brushed finish in an assortment of sizes . Our inventory levels are sufficient to fulfil most orders in the range of 200–300 nameplates with short lead times.

All plates are precision laser cut by a specialist external supplier, resulting in clean, accurate edges free from sharpness or burring. In addition to our standard 1.2mm material, we manufacture nameplates in 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm and 3.0mm thicknesses in either 316 or 304 grade stainless steel. Custom sizes are available up to a maximum of 1010mm wide × 450mm high. Plates can be supplied with or without mounting holes and with square or rounded corners to suit installation requirements.

To support tag applications, we also stock 1.2mm multi-strand 316 stainless steel wire along with matching 316 stainless steel crimps, suitable for securing hanging tags such as valve tags and instrument identification tags.

Direct Laser Etched

Direct Laser Etched Nameplates are produced using our direct fibre laser system, eliminating the need for marking compounds or pastes. This process creates a highly permanent mark with excellent resistance to chemicals, UV exposure and abrasive particles, making it well suited to harsh industrial environments.

This is our standard method for engraving stainless steel and is widely accepted across the Oil and Gas, Coal and Iron Ore industries. The resulting mark is a dark, high-contrast finish.

Marker Paste Engraved

Marker paste nameplates are engraved with our Co2 Laser and utilise a mineral marker paste that is permanently fused to the surface of the Stainless Steel. The engraving is also resistant to harsh environments such as exposure to chemicals, UV and abrasive particles. It is also widely accepted in the industrial Oil and Gas industry and Coal and Iron Ore industries.

Deep Engraved and Enamel Paint Filled

Deep-etch engraved and enamel paint-filled nameplates are chemically engraved to an approximate depth of 0.25mm and then infilled with high-quality enamel paint. This process is typically selected where coloured text or logos are required on stainless steel.

Due to the multiple stages involved in chemical etching and paint filling, this option has a longer production time compared to direct laser marking. However, the result is a highly durable, long-lasting nameplate suitable for demanding industrial environments
